Penn Interactive, embarking on a rapid, multi-state growth initiative, recognized the need to augment their existing recruitment programs. Their growth required support in both Operations and Engineering, which were hiring at a pace beyond their current capacity due to their rapid expansion into new states with their Online Sports betting and iCasino application with Barstool Sports – The Barstool Sportsbook.
Each area presented a unique set of challenges. Their new Operations Center would require rapid ‘sprints’ of new Player Experience Agents once a new state launch was final. Hiring was one step in the process, a process which required strong coordination with PI’s internal team.
Within Engineering, the challenge was to deliver highly experienced engineers to support their advanced tech stack, while balancing PI’s hiring process focused on hiring diverse and culturally aligned candidates.
ORS Partners was identified as a local firm with the business model and resources capable of supporting both the Player Experience project as well as the ongoing growth needs of the engineering division.
PA and MI were the newest expansion states when ORS began working with PI. ORS worked to quickly understand each project scope and the significant production required (under compressed timelines) to deliver the necessary hires. With a three-person team dedicated to the Operations Center, ORS helped hire 45 Player Experience Agents in 42 days. Given the extremely aggressive timelines, regular points of communication were set up to assess progress and roadblocks. Additionally, an advanced check-in process was set-up to create seamless coordination of the licensing process so that no time was lost within the project plan.
When MI was launching a few months later, the original ORS team was already reassigned. ORS rapidly assembled a new three-person team and the results were the same. ORS delivered the targeted 15 hires in 30 days keeping the project launch on schedule.
These projects differed greatly from PI’s technology initiative which has leveraged the flagship ORS Partners White Label solution. ORS aligned a lead technology recruiter to PI for an initial two-month project. This project has now extended past nine months and has been instrumental in helping keep PI’s talent acquisition team in strong support of the growing technology requisition list.
