Freedom Mortgage, a leader in nationwide home financing, needed to refocus and strengthen their campus recruiting program in order to grow their team. Freedom wanted to rebuild their campus recruiting strategy to improve both the quantity and quality of new college graduates entering their First Flyer program.
Increase the number and quality of entry-level candidates through a robust, effective, comprehensive campus recruitment program.
ORS Talent Consultant Stephanie Waite worked with Freedom Mortgage to modernize their current campus recruiting efforts. She spearheaded an initiative to increase the company’s social media presence and created a referral program and new sourcing strategy for corporate use beyond campus recruiting. Additionally, Stephanie worked with the project management team at Freedom to develop more consistency across their application technologies, general job postings, and recruitment strategies. She and her team represented Freedom Mortgage at 25 on-campus career fairs prior to the COVID-19 pandemic-related shutdown of campuses. She also collaborated with Freedom’s Director of Campus Recruiting and Vice President of Talent Acquisition to develop a new campus recruiting marketing plan, including marketing brochures, banners, and accessories, although the rollout of these materials was sidelined by the pandemic. Stephanie built a positive and trusting relationship with management at Freedom Mortgage and enlisted a dedicated team of ORS Partners recruiters who shared her commitment to producing results.
In response to COVID-19, Stephanie worked diligently to ensure that her team’s efforts would not be hindered by the pandemic. As many universities were unprepared for a complete shutdown of their on-campus recruiting activities, she worked alongside both the schools and Freedom Mortgage to develop a way to connect virtually with prospective candidates through workshops and online hiring events. Stephanie and the ORS team have represented Freedom at 60 virtual events to date.
In six months and amidst a worldwide pandemic, Stephanie and her team came together with the team at Freedom Mortgage to extend 231 offers, 197 of which have been accepted to date. She credits the project’s success to the support she received from the entire team at ORS, along with the great partnership that has been established between ORS and Freedom Mortgage.
